The game Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower is coming to mobile on September 3rd. Pre-registration is open on Androidand it should follow on iOS. To keep players waiting and give them a taste of the strategy game, the development studio Perchang has shared a 3-minute video revealing new elements. It shows the gameplay in more detail as well as new gameplay mechanics. Although there is still a lot to discover, this adaptation already looks promising.
A franchise steeped in history
The Warhammer universe is not new. It was originally, in 1983, a board game with collectible miniatures. Since then, the franchise has multiplied editions and adaptations (novels, magazines, video games...).
On mobile, we had the opportunity to discover the games Warhammer Questand Warhammer Quest 2 (already developed by Perchang). These two versions had received a mixed feedback. If the tactical side had pleased the players, many had regretted a not rich enough story and a high price for the DLC. Still waiting for an official release date, it seems however that Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower has taken these criticisms into account.
A Warhammer mobile game with depth
This new Warhammer mobile game rightly takes up the strategy game principle that has made the franchise so strong. In order to progress, you will have to defeat your opponents in tactical battles taking place in the turn-based. The principle seems simple on the surface, since each hero can only choose between 3 actions during his turn: attack, move or cast a special skill. However, there are a multitude of advanced mechanics to incorporate into your calculations. In Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower we could mention two very specific mechanics.
Reaction shots from ranged champions who, even when it is not their turn, attack enemies in range and interrupt their movement.
The power-up of some magical heroes that gain power with each turn.
This mobile game promises a complex tactical battle that should satisfy players looking for depth. All the more so as more than 200 levels have been announced for the first time.
Finally, for those who regretted the cost of the game, Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower will be a free-to-play game. You will be able to buy content, but the developers have put a big emphasis on the in-game loot system to obtain various equipment and rewards. While waiting for the release of the game, find another Warhammer game on mobile, Warhammer: Chaos & Conquest.
