PUBG Mobile 1.2 update: Runic Power game mode

With the PUBG Mobile 1.2 update, Battle Royale players can start the year off with a bang! While the update is already available on both Android and iOS, it introduces the Runic Power game mode. In this mode, participants have the opportunity to select a rune that grants them unique powers in the game. There are a variety of choices, all of which provide decisive strategic advantages. It is up to you to select the rune that best suits your play style to maximise its effectiveness.

In addition to this new game mode, the PUBG Mobile 1.2 update comes with other new features. On the agenda is a new weapon, a collaboration with the game Metro Exodus, and the Royal Pass for Season 17 with even more in-game cosmetic choices. Also keep in mind that registration for the Club Open tournament is still open and you have 10 days left to participate in the competition.

All about the Runic Power game mode

This new game mode is the central element of the PUBG Mobile 1.2 update. In this mode, each player chooses a rune at the beginning of the game. There are 3 types of rune, each with its own specific advantages.

• Flame Rune: Allows you to summon a flame wheel and inflict burn damage with its ammunition.
• Arctic Rune: summons a wall of ice to block the passage. The ammunition also has a slowing and healing reduction effect.
• Wind Rune: Allows you to summon a wind shield in an area, which reduces the damage inflicted by shooters outside the area. It also gives a bonus to movement speed and reload speed.

The power of runes may be powerful, but it is not unlimited either. Players must make sure to collect as many runic crystals as possible to charge their powers and use them as often as possible. Staying hidden and safe is one way to survive, but in these conditions, it is difficult to collect the precious crystals scattered all over the map.

Other new features of the PUBG Mobile 1.2 update

The PUBG Mobile 1.2 update also introduces several new features in addition to the Runic Power game mode.

• A new weapon: the variable-fire assault rifle FAMAS. It requires 5.56 mm ammunition and has a reduced recoil, making it easier to aim.
• A collaboration with Metro Exodus : by increasing your honour level during your games (collection and eliminations), players unlock permanent voice packs, outfits and rewards .
• New Battle Pass: with a ton of new skins including the Deadly Sickle and the Guardian Armor Set.
