Let's face it, we weren't expecting a big surprise when it came to the Game Awards Mobile Game of the Year. The selection of nominated games included Destiny: Rising, Sonic Rumble, Wuthering Waves and... Umamusume: Pretty Derby. And it was the latter that came out on top. Thank goodness for the Mobi Awards, to vote for the REAL mobile game of 2025.
I'll spare you my rather salty opinion of the game's concept, but it's Umamusume: Pretty Derby, published by Cygames, that wins Mobile Game of the Year 2025.
Once again, Geoff Keighley knows how to disappoint. Here at Mobi.gg, we are convinced that other games on the list deserved to be rewarded, notably Destiny: Rising, which offers a truly qualitative FPS experience on mobile.
Clearly, this year has had some surprises in store for us, with Archero 2, Acecraft, Squid Game Unleashed and Monument Valley 3. Fortunately, if you want a really serious selection, you've got the Mobi Awards!
As we do every year, we're organising the Mobi Awards, our own awards ceremony for the mobile game of the year. And it's you who'll be taking part, on our social networks Discord, Instagram and YouTube.

36 games will compete in 9 polls, and 9 games will win. These 9 games will then go head-to-head to decide the best mobile games of 2026. The winner will be announced on 23 January 2026 , so stay tuned!
