In this week's recap #182, we take a look at the week's must-have mobile games releases, mobile news and pre-registrations/test phases not to be missed.

Sit back and relax as we round up all the week's mobile games news! On the agenda: the release of Heaven Burns Red, the announcement of FFXIV mobile and the Google Play Awards 2024.

Mobile games releases of the week

This week has been rich in release announcements, with many games now available on stores:

  • Heaven Burns Red combines turn-based gameplay with immersive storytelling. Download it for free on Play Store and App Store to discover the story of young heroines defending humanity against an alien threat.
  • Transformers: Tactical Arena is a direct competitor to Clash Royale. Test your strategy in intense online PvP battles, from this week in F2P on Play Store and App Store.
  • Mythwalker, the geolocation game that combines strategy and exploration, is now available globally on Play Store and App Store. Take advantage of its interactive gameplay and varied environments to battle over 70 enemies.
  • With Total War: Empire, immerse yourself in the military campaigns of the 18ᵉ century. Available on Play Store and App Store for $14, it promises intense strategic confrontations.

We continue with Stellar Traveler, a 2D RPG with a retro style on Play Store and App Store. Collect heroes and survive the half-flesh, half-metal creatures. Finally, this week sees the release of Mister Antonio, an adorable game that lets you solve puzzles with your cat in 2D levels on Play Store and App Store.

Pre-registrations, announcements, updates and test phases

In addition to the recent releases, we have more test announcements and pre-registrations in stock this week:

  • Girls Frontline 2 will offer tactical battles and heroines in a post-apocalyptic world from 3 December on Play Store, App Store and PC.
  • Final Fantasy XIV mobile on Play Store and App Store will be brought to you by Tencent and Square Enix, bringing the world of A Realm Reborn to mobile. Before a global launch, tests are planned in China.
  • Clash Mini returns in June 2025, integrated as a game mode into Clash Royale. Supercell is transforming this competitive title into a platform for strategic modes, hoping to recapture its original community.
  • Squid Game: Unleashed plunges you into a deadly battle royale, inspired by the hit Korean series. The game will be available on Play Store and App Store via Netflix Games on 17 December.

We continue with the RPG Black Beacon, which has unveiled a new trailer. Already available on iOS, Warframe is coming to Play Store in a cross-platform version.

Marvel Mystic Mayhem is currently undergoing alpha testing in several countries. Then there's the direct sequel to Plague Inc, After Inc , which plunges you into a post-apocalyptic world. Pre-register on Play Store and App Store!

The futuristic RPG Albus Paths enters the testing phase. Still on the RPG front, Codename Cedar is launching its beta recruitment.

And Kabam Games is revisiting the Arthurian legend with King Arthur: Legends Rise. Pre-register on Play Store and App Store to take advantage of bonuses on release. Finally, the adaptation of the anime Haikyu! is available in several Asian countries on Play Store and App Store.

Other news and events from the mobile games industry

The mobile JV industry has other news in store for you this week:

  • This year's Google Play Awards went to Solo Leveling: Arise (Best Story), AFK Journey (Best Game), Squad Busters (Best Multiplayer Experience) and Honkai Star Rail (Best Continuation Game).
  • Mojang teams up with Merlin Entertainments to create Minecraft attractions in the UK and US. Roller coasters and immersive experiences are on the agenda.
