Among the many products presented during the Logi Play 2022, the Logitech G Cloud announcement particularly caught our attention. Let's discover together the features, the release date, as well as the availability of this cloud gaming console that strongly reminds the Steam Deck.
At its Logi Play 2022 event, the Swiss manufacturer Logitech presented many products related to light and sound. But the announcement that created the surprise was the Logitech G Cloud, a portable console that highlights cloud gaming.
Logitech G Cloud will integrate the Android ecosystem. It will have a 7 inches 16:9 screen in Full HD quality and with an 60 Hz refresh rate. There will be the usual buttons, with two off-center joysticks, a directional cross, the four main buttons (A, B, X and Y), two menu buttons and the two triggers.
On the hardware side, the G Cloud embeds a Snapdragon 720G processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, expandable via the microSD port. This is clearly not a dream configuration, but it's more than enough for cloud gaming. The only thing you need to worry about is having a good internet connection to reduce latency.
Its 6,000 mAh battery life is estimated at 12 hours in cloud gaming, which is pretty impressive if true. On the other hand, it weighs a little heavier than average, at almost 500 grams.
As for content, the Logitech G Cloud allows access to the Google Play Store and other Google apps, such as Chrome or YouTube, but also to cloud gaming services, such as Nvidia GeForce Now or Xbox Game Pass.
The upcoming Logitech G Cloud arrival brings a new competitor to the portable cloud gaming console market. With a price of $350, the G Cloud is more aggressively priced than the Steam Deck, but the Steam Deck has more powerful components.
Logitech's console will be available on October 17, 2022, but only in the United States and Canada at first. Pre-orders are already open on the manufacturer's website with a $50 discount until the official release date.
So much for the Logitech G Cloud announcement. We don't have more information about the worldwide release, but it will probably depend on its success in the countries concerned. To stay informed about iOS and Android news, I invite you to check regularly our section dedicated to mobile news.
