Krafton is definitely in the news at the moment. After the announcement of Palwolrd Mobile in development at PUBG Studios, we now learn that the South Korean publisher will be presenting its port of Dinkum, the life simulator where you can raise wombats in the Australian bush, at G-Star 2024. Personally, I'll be signing up straight away!
For G-Star 2024, Krafton has planned a whole host of announcements detailed in a press release, including the announcement of Dinkum Mobile, the Animal Crossing-like game available in early access since 2022 on Steam. The project has been entrusted to the South Korean publisher's 5minlab studio.
For those who may have missed out on Dinkum, it's an open-world life simulator whose environments are inspired by the Australian bush. That's hardly surprising, given that its solo dev James Bendon hails from the land of kangaroos.
You'll find some of the region's animals, including cute wombats and not-so-cute crocodiles, as well as all the mechanics and features of classic life simulators: farming, crafting, fishing, hunting and terraforming to help you develop your farm.
I've compared Dinkum Mobile to Animal Crossing, but the game actually offers a much more complete experience. If Krafton decides to offer us a mobile version similar to the PC version, you'll be able to discover a title with almost infinite possibilities, more flexible gameplay , especially in the construction world, and a few additions, such as the survival aspect (I told you about the crocodiles earlier...). In Dinkum, it's hard to know in advance whether a plant is edible or deadly!
As someone with a soft spot for life sims, I was delighted to hear about Dinkum Mobile, and I'll keep you posted as soon as the game's release date is announced!
