As fans eagerly await Dragon Ball Z: Sparking Zero on PC and consoles this October, Bandai Namco has announced a new game in the Dragon Ball universe. For the first time in the history of games in the licence, this new title will be a 4v4 arena battle game (in other words, a MOBA). The game is Dragon Ball Project: Multi, which will be released on Android, iOS and PC. More good news: the dates of the next regional beta have already been revealed, and it's coming soon!
Announcement of Dragon Ball Project: Multi, the first MOBA in the history of the licence
When we think of DBZ games, we inevitably think of the Budokai saga or the gachasDragon Ball Legends andDokkan Battle. Bandai Namco and developer Ganbarion have sprung a surprise today by announcing the very first MOBA to be published under the Japanese licence.
The announcement trailer unveiled today shows us some gameplay footage, reminiscent of Pokémon Unite. On the agenda for this 4v4 arena battle game is a roster featuring legendary Dragon Ball characters (Goku, Vegeta, Boo, as well as Zamasu and Android 18, to name but a few), power-ups (what would Dragon Ball be without a Super Saiyan transformation?) and, of course, the crystal balls you'll need to get your hands on to win the game.
That's pretty much all we know about gameplay from the announcement of Dragon Ball Project: Multi. If you'd like to find out a little more, the regional beta is coming very soon, in the next few days.
Dragon Ball Project: Multi regional beta starts on 19 August
You've only got a few days to wait to get your hands on the MOBA Dragon Ball Project: Multi! The beta will take place on Android, iOS and PC. It starts on 19 August at 11.00pm (PDT) and ends on 2 September at 10.59pm (PDT). The mobile stores page is not yet available, but the game already appears on Steam.
The countries covered by the Dragon Ball Project: Multi beta are Canada, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, the UK and the US. In the meantime, check out the official website for all the latest news!
