Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit review, a gentle life sim

"All those who are lost deserve to be treated with kindness". That's the saying of the Listening Scouts, of which you are one. In a bus accident, you lose your group and find yourself alone on an island inhabited by ghost bears. That's the pitch for Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit developed by Spry Fox, the sequel to Cozy Grove released exclusively on Android and iOS via Netflix Games. In this Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit review, I invite you to discover a gentle life sim for a relaxing experience.

Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit review, a gentle life sim

Positive points

  • Cute hand-drawn graphics
  • Very engaging NPCs
  • Short daily quests that give way to island management
  • A fairly long lifespan

Negative points

  • Controls that are hard to get to grips with on a small screen
  • Too much interface

My final opinion on Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit

Let's start this Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit review with what catches the eye at first glance: its distinctive graphics, a little reminiscent of Don't Starve, only more colourful! But there's much more to the game than just its beautiful AD .

In Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit, you'll have to help adorable ghost bears find peace by completing the daily quests they suggest. This will allow you to restore colour to their part of the island and unlock new areas and new ghost bears.

What I particularly liked about Cozy Grove, Camp Spirit is its deliberately short daily quest system (between 30 and 45 minutes), which then gives way to island management based on collecting, crafting and decorating. It's therefore possible to consume the game 'à la carte', which I think is pretty cool.

Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit brings new improvements and additions to the first PC opus, such as the power wash and asynchronous multiplayer. On the other hand, the controls can be a little frustrating (particularly in Decoration mode, where it's hard to place objects on the grid). I also regret that the interface takes up so much space and isn't always very intuitive.

Despite these shortcomings, which may affect your experience of the game, my opinion of Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit is fairly positive. It's a good cozy game to play every day, for a relaxing moment.

Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit, a game to enjoy under a blanket with a hot chocolate.
