The Clash Royale game is one of the most popular mobile games. Developed by the Japanese company Supercell, it has an official professional league esport : the Clash Royal League. Teams are split into Eastern and Westerndivisions and compete on a specific schedule: the Spring segment and then the Fall segment. While the Eastern conference finished its first segment in May, shortened because of Covid-19, it is now preparing for the Fall segment which will have a big cash-prize: $225,000 to be shared between the 8 participating teams.
The eight teams of the Clash Royale League East
The participants of the Clash Royale League East for the next segment are now known... And there are no real surprises! We take the same and we start again, all the competitors of the previous segment are renewed. So there will still be a huge majority of Chinese, Japanese and Korean teams. We also take the opportunity to give a little nod to Simonnel "iSlaw" Alban, our national globetrotter. This Frenchman, who has been playing for the KIX Team since March, is the only European (and more globally, non-Asian) player in the conference.
The fall segment of the Clash Royale League East will feature :
NOVA Esports (China): 7/8th in the last split, last in the class, the structure must bounce back;
Talon Esports (Korea): 5/6th in the last split, the structure is known in Europe as Paris Saint-Germain has invested in its League of Legends team;
FAV Gaming (Japan): 1st in the last split, it lives up to its name of "Fun and Victory".
TTG (China): 5/6 in the last split, a disappointing result after finishing 2nd in the group stage before collapsing in the playoffs;
PONOS (Japan) : 4th in the last split, the team will try to reach the podium this time;
KIX Team (Macau): 3rd in the last split, iSlaw who was already present hopes to do even better;
W.EDGM (China): 2nd in the last split, she lost heavily 0-3 in the final;
Team Timing (Korea): 7/8th in the last split, the team will fight with Nova Esports to avoid finishing last.
What about the Western Conference?
The Western Conference is a little behind schedule, as it has yet to decide the winner of the first segment of the year. Victory will be decided on 18 July between Spacestation Gaming (USA) and Misfits Gaming (USA/Germany). Unfortunately for Frenchman Jarod Emmanuel "Azilys" Quesada, his team Tribe Gaming failed to reach the semi-finals...
