Almost 2 years after the official game announcement, SW Chronicles gameplay is revealed a little more. Let's see what we've learned about Com2uS' next title and the third game in the Summoners War universe after Sky Arena and Lost Centuria.
Summoners War Chronicles, the MMORPG from Com2uS
Summoners War Chronicles is an MMORPG whose events take place before the two previous games of the license. We had a glimpse of SW Chronicles gameplay in the first footage at Gamescom 2020.
Visually, the title is very colourful and has a classic but effective cartoon style. The cutscenes are very well done and the design of the characters has been thought out in relation to their powers. According to the developers, special care has been taken with the facial expressions of the characters, monsters and NPCs.
With this third title, the developers' aim is to add depth to the Summoners War lore and allow players to discover this universe in its entirety.
As with any good MMORPG, Summoners War Chronicles will have you completing numerous quests and exploring dungeons where you will have to battle gigantic monsters with the help of other players.
SW Chronicles gameplay
We learned more about the SW Chronicles gameplay from an interview with the game's developers.
At the beginning of the game, you must choose one of the 3 main characters:
Orbia: a mage who does heavy damage from a distance
Kina: support that heals its allies
Cleaf: tank melee
Although SW Chronicles gameplay is based on the classic model of the genre, it has its own specificities. In addition to the 5 skills available to your character, he can be accompanied by 3 monsters who themselves have their own abilities.
Those familiar with the franchise may be confused to find some of the monsters from Summoners War: Sky Arena and Lost Centuria but at a different star level. Indeed, the developers have made changes to some of the characters to make them more relevant to the gameplay.
That's all we know at the moment about the SW Chronicles gameplay. The release date has not yet been announced, but you can pre-register on TapTap to be informed when the game is released.
