Are you looking for adventure, glory and action? Northgard, the mobile strategy game developed by the independent studio Playdigious is for you. After Evoland and Evoland 2, this new creation promises to offer you once again an immersive and emotional experience. Lead your clan to grow, develop and above all resist the hostile environment of the Great North. The game has already proven itself on PC, but it should now make its way onto mobile for iOS and Android. But for now, there is no official release date.
In addition to its strategic aspect, Northgard allows you to learn more about the Viking world and Norse mythology. Often described as a barbaric people, eager to plunder and slaughter, the Vikings have much more to teach you in this mobile game.
Players have had the opportunity to play Northgard on PC since 2018. The game is taking its time to arrive on mobile, but we now know that the project is well underway. This delay can be explained by the fact that independent game studios such as Playdigious often have smaller resources and prefer to limit the risks as much as possible.
In any case, on PC, Northgard has seduced its community of players. Between strategy and management, it gives you the heavy responsibility of managing your clan. Recruit new members and assign them specific tasks (farmer, warrior, navigator, etc.). Construct new buildings to gain access to powerful units and technologies. Explore the map to find new resources. You have a free hand and it's up to you to make the right choices. But beware the outside world is full of enemies and dangers. A wise Viking is worth two, and you're in for a surprise...
It doesn't take a genius to realise the differences between a PC and a mobile. The media are different, with strengths and weaknesses on both sides. The big issue with Northgard on mobile is the fluidity and readability of its interface. In a management game where you have to act in real time, the medium has to be very reactive not to spoil the experience. Especially since the map is quite large and you'll have to quickly scan your game to get from one place to another.
However, we can't wait to see how thetouch screen will be used in the mobile game. This should make management even more intuitive.
