After Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, it's the turn of another mobile game to have its own anime adaptation. The news is that Garena Free Fire will have its own series, produced by Kadokawa Corporation in collaboration with the battle royale publisher. You may soon be able to see the game's iconic characters, such as Kelly, A124 and Chrono, on your screens!
Two days ago, Garena Online Private Limited and Kadokawa Corporation announced their collaboration on an anime project for the battle royale with over a billion downloads. The two entities will be in charge of financing the Free Fire series, while Kadokawa's Chinese subsidiary, Aohane Kadokawa, will be in charge of production.

For the moment, no information has been revealed about the script for the Garena Free Fire anime. Nor do we know the number of episodes or their format. What we do know for sure is that the series will be distributed worldwide, obviously in Asia where the game is particularly popular and established. In Europe, on the other hand, Garena Free Fire has never managed to catch up with other BRs such as Call of Duty Mobile or PUBG Mobile.
This isn't the first time that Free Fire has been adapted into an anime series. Available on YouTube, the Free Fire Tales series presents the characters and their background in a colourful cartoon style. With no real common thread, Free Fire Tales is divided into several episodes focusing on the most popular characters in the battle royale.
It's impossible to say at the moment whether the Garena Free Fire anime will feature similar graphics or even the characters' lore. The same goes for the release date, which has yet to be announced. However, we can still get an idea of the quality of the production, as Kadokawa has already produced anime such as Made in Abyss, You Name and Wolf Children. Stay tuned!
