PUBG is a Battle Royale that has been riding the wave. Unfortunately, its current situation is not as brilliant as it used to be. The competition is tough and many competitors have arrived: Fortnite, Apex Legendsor even Warzone On the other hand, PUBG is very popular in Asia, especially in South Korea. The phone version, PUBG Mobile, has a very active community and the announced collaboration with the K-POP group BlackPink should get the community all riled up.
BlackPink is one of the most popular female K-POP groups of the moment. The quartet consisting of Jennie, Jisoo, Rose and Lisa hold several impressive records. The video for "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du" is the most viewed K-POP video in the world and the first to reach one billion views on YouTube.
Teasers without details for the PUBG Mobile - BlackPink collaboration
For the moment, there are no specific details regarding this collaboration between BlackPink and PUBG Mobile. Speculation is rife, but others prefer not to get ahead of themselves for fear of being disappointed. In the teaser that made the collaboration official, we see the 4 idols dressed in black in front of New Erangel, which was repainted pink for the occasion. We suspect, however, that the partnership will not be limited to a story of colouring. What is more likely is the insertion of BlackPink music in the game (How You Like That, Kill This Love, As If It's Your Last, etc.). Some skins or weapons on the theme of the South Korean group would also be an original initiative.
It is also worth noting that this is not the first collaboration between BlackPink and PUBG Mobile. Last July, the game already introduced the song "Playing With Fire".
Singers' in-game IDs revealed
PUBG Mobile has also revealed the in-game IDs of the 4 members of the BlackPink group. This means that players can view their profiles while sending them gifts.
Jennie Kim: JenniePUBGM (ID : 51009797582) ;
Kim Jisoo: JisooPUBGM (ID: 51009780171);
Lalisa Manoban : LisaPUBGM (ID : 51009791380) ;
Roseanne Park: RoséPUBGM (ID: 51009801702).
If you come across one of her accounts in your games, you can be sure it's one of the members. However, it is likely that these accounts are only used for showmatch purposes and many are betting on a PUBG Mobile event where BlackPink fans can meet their idol.
PUBG is not the only game to do collaborations with K-POP. League of Legends with its K/DA group regularly puts together projects with (G)I-dle and rapper Jeon So-Yeon.
