PSG crowned world champions of Brawl Stars

PSG world champion Brawl Stars

THIS IS PARIS ! The fans of Olympique de Marseille may repeat all day long that OM is the only French club to have won the champions league, but it is PSG who was crowned world champion this weekend... on Brawl Stars ! The grumpy ones will say that theesport mobile does not shine as much as the world of the round ball. They're probably right, but that's no reason not to congratulate PSG and its section esport.

It should be noted, however, that the PSG Brawl Stars team is not very French. Once upon a time, the club had a tricolour roster, but it has since shifted to an Asian roster consisting of Response, CoupDeAce and Scythe. Given their world title, it's hard to blame the structure. Atesport, the winners are never wrong.

Replay of the French cast of the competition.

Brawl Stars world champions without a moment's hesitation

Even before the weekend started, we had a roundup of the community favourites for the final win. Many seasoned spectators saw PSG winning easily in the quarter-finals against Nova Esports. This was the case with a scathing 3-0 score. The same house rate was inflicted again in the semi-final against SK Gaming, and then in the final against INTZ. Whatever the opponent, the map or the game mode, PSG was unstoppable. Their victory is not in dispute and all the players were up to scratch. While commentator Woody chose Response as the MVP of the tournament, surely for once there could have been a collective MVP for the entire roster.

The team also left with deep pockets. The total cash-prize reached the million dollar mark thanks to the community. The winners take the biggest share with 250,000 dollars. A nice sum, which will allow players to treat themselves at Christmas.

Small disappointment for the French of CodeMagic Purple

As we said before, the Brawl Stars 2020 world champions wear the PSG colours but are not French. However, there were some French players in the competition: TwistiTwik and SunBentley for CodeMagic Purple (two former PSG players) and Achille for SK Gaming. These two European teams faced each other in the first round of the world finals. It was Achilles and his team who came out on top, sending CodeMagic Purple home early on the first day of competition.

This qualification was not really a gift though... SK Gaming came back for the second day of the tournament, only to be beaten by the future winners. Even if the important thing is to participate, at this level everyone dreams of the world crown. For our Frenchies, they will have to try againnext year.
